It's Tournament Week!

I think I'm more excited than the team

I would have to say that I'm (normally) the loudest mama
(I have been sick for 5 days, so I don't think I will be tonight)

Last week at one of the games, we got pretty excited and I guess we were a bit to loud
A little boy was walking behind us and told us we were too loud and we hurt his ears

I told him I was sorry; I made sure he wasn't a sibling from our team and kindly told him~
That was just the way I was and if he didn't like it, he would have to sit somewhere else

FYI -
I am going to (attempt) be the loudest cheerleader
and if you don't like it, don't sit by me!
(I'm praying for a miraculous recovery before 5:30PM)

I love the WHOLE team (Papa Murphy's) but this guy is my absolute favorite!
Spencer #7  (My #1)

We had a small accident on Sunday night. Spencer slipped on the wet deck steps
and smacked his face on the deck steps. He's worried the cathchers mask will rub
while this mama is worried about the sweat and dirt getting in the wound

We will keep it covered and hope for the best!

The fun begins tonight! We play at 5:30 on diamond 6
Come on down and help us cheer on Papa Murphy's

I treated myeslf to some new polish for the BIG game!
I spent a week looking for the perfect color to sport on my toes-ORANGE of course
I prefer OPI or ESSIE polish but for 1 day it didn't really matter

A friend of mine has a son that plays serious ball, you know the kind where you travel
all over, you're never home, you spend a small a fortune, the kind of ball my son wants to play
but this mean mama says NO!

Anyway, she had her toes painted to match her sons teams shirts and even had her sons # painted on her big toe. It was adorable and so I stole her idea BUT I had to piant my own because I would have to make an appointment, feel guilty about spending the money for a pedicure, line up a sitter, clean the house, worry that the kids would get hurt while I was gone, pay the sitter and clean the house again when I got home

After all is said and done; it's just easier to give myself a pedicure
Note to self-Polish doesn't dry well in Iowa humidity

Did I mention the color of my polish is- CRUSHED (I LOVE IT!)
While I don't like the word crush when it come to beating the other team,
I will say, I hope we win

Wish us luck!

Pool Foools

Yesterday was a LONG and BORING day for the boys
My Mom and I had spent 7 hours sewing
So I thought I would plan something fun for the evening

I had 5 pickle jars waiting to be recycled
and a million candles in a drawer I had just cleaned out

I lined the fence with candles and tiki torches and let the kids swim in candle light

THEY LOVED IT!

I tried to get more pictures but they move to fast

I'm pretty sure they will want to do this every night
and that's okay because guess what I got to do while they swam

I got to admire my HUGE beautiful hastas (and pull weeds)

This little light of mine

This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine

I bought this outdated brass lamp for $5.00

    The brass HAD to go!

Ta~Da It's Done!
I will NEVER cover another lamp shade for as long as I live
I watched a million tutorial's on covering lamp shades (it's not as easy as it looks)
I was up until the wee hours of the morning with spray adhesive and hot glue stuck all over me

We spent an hour at Joann's yesterday trying to pick fabric. I thought I wanted something green but ended up liking how this greenish blue color looked with the fabric I had already picked for throw pillows

I have many more projects to complete:

I would REALLY like to make one of these (or maybe I'll just buy the one I saw at Shopko)
Antique White Rose on Brown Pillow 14 X 14
Etsy-BedBuggs

The boys helped me pick out fabric for a curtain for the kitchen
Thankfully it was 40% off because I'm not sure I lovin it
What do you think?

If you don't remember, this is the color of my kitchen

It's not the greatest picture of the color but hopefully you can get the idea

Back to all the projects I have to finish:
Paint a Microwave stand
Paint a dresser
Find a floor lamp
Finish counter tops
 The sofa

Stay tuned for more DIY :)

Live Today Fully

I chose this as my blog title because life is short and it can be as sweet as you make it

I have been missing my boys like CRAZY. My parents took them to Wisconsin over the 4th. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed time with the hubby but I felt lost. The boys go every where with us, the house is never quiet and we always have something going on (Baseball, T-Ball, Cub Scouts...)

I had mixed emotions about letting the boys go. My parents did a great job raising us and my mom is the best nurse in town (just my opinion), I knew they would be fine. My biggest fear was something that I didn't even tell my husband. I feared them being in an accident while on their way to or from Wisconsin. Really, what are the odds of this happening but I just couldn't help but fear losing my boys. I know that this could happen to us as a family but I hope if it happens, we will go through the pearly gates together. I just prayed that they would be safe. What more could I do?

Over the weekend I came across a heart breaking blog. The Sullenger family had to experience a horrific and tragic drowning accident. Read about their story here- http://patrickandashley.blogspot.com/ Their sweet  Presslee is now their little angel in Heaven. This young couple went from having a child for 2 years and in the blink of an eye, she was taken from them. How do you go back to life before kids once you have had them? I thought about this a lot the last couple of days.

I'm happy to announce that my boys are back (SAFE) and we have some fun things planned for this week.

I can't imagine life without them!

This is an old picture but it's one of my favorites

Empty suitcase

The boys will be leaving in 7 hours and I still haven't packed their suitcase

As nice as a break will be, I want them home with me! (Yes, I'm selfish!)

Grandma and Grandpa are taking them to Wisconsin. Bless their hearts but I don't think they know what they are getting themselves into. The boys can't get along for 5 minutes, how will they ever get along for 5 hours?

I'll just pray for safe travel and hope the boys are on their BEST behavior

I guess I better go pack

What was I thinking

What was I thinking when I signed the boys up for College for Kids, swimming lessons, day camp, baseball and t-ball?

I can do this! That's what I was thinking

I must have forgotten that some time during these hectic 2 weeks- I have to work!

We start the morning like this-

The taxi leaves at 8:05AM (No later, I dislike the traffic after 8:20AM)

8:20AM- Arrive at College for Kids (I'm secretly hoping this is our last year)

9:00AM- Swimming Lessons
Today was his last day of lessons and he passed

10:15AM- Home to pack lunch for camp
(I'm sure he won't even eat it because he'll be to busy socializing)

11:30AM- Back to College for Kids- (Remembering to park in a spot that I can exit quickly)

11:45AM-Day Camp at Weed Park

Free Time- It's not really free time. There is always something that needs done. Like washing the ball uniform because we have games 3 nights in a row and the shirt we have to wear every day to day camp

3:30PM- Pick up from day camp

4:00PM-Start dinner (We have been living off of sandwiches. I guess it beats fast food)

5:15PM- Out the door again

5:30PM- t-ball

6:00PM- Baseball

8:15PM- HOME SWEET HOME!
