Military life and Laundry

Your still wondering
aren't you

Military life and Laundry

I despise each of them:
I dread the next deployment
like I dread the buzzer on the dryer going off
NOT AGAIN!

Okay, so it's really not THAT bad

The hubby was on orders last week
which means someone has to wash uniforms

The hubby thinks whoever decided to use all that
velcro/hook and pile on the uniforms was a genius
(Velcro in military terms is called hook and pile)
It must have been a man married to a lovely lady that washed all of his uniforms

The velcro does have one advantage
It's easy to pull patches off to prevent wear and tear
but guess what happens when I wash the uniform

It turns into a waded up ball that I have to pull apart
because all the velcro sticks together
And guess what else happens
This lovely ladies pretty panties get in a bunch
LITERALLY
Those nice satin panties are now stuck to the velcro
and when I pull them off

RUINED

Now you know why I despise the laundry and military life

One foot in front of the other

I haven't blogged in a while,
It's not that I don't have anything to blog about
I just don't know where to begin

I have a lot of projects started
I just can't seem to finish them

I need to put one foot in front of the other
and keep on hiking

Here are a few things I have been working on -

The new to us couch is FINALLY finished
I have the worlds BEST mom
She sewed all new cushion and pillow covers
It's HUGE and we love it

See the paint samples stuck to the wall in that picture
Yep, it's another work in progress
I think color #2 is the winner
and that Mama I love so much
is coming over on Friday to help me paint

Do you remember my awesome find on Craigslist
Broyhill coffee table and end tables
for $10
I only wanted one end table but the sweet sweet couple gave us all 3
I'm turning one of tables into a 4 post bed for Amelia
Did I just hear you whisper SPOILED?
Yes, we know
Any way, I'm almost done painting it
and I'll be thrilled to get it done
I learned VERY quick that I should have used spray paint

Maybe I need to give up PINTEREST
I check out the site almost every day
and get more ideas in my head

I saw one of these and HAD to have one
It took me a while to figure out exactly what I wanted
and how to go about doing it
I almost gave up and just bought one off Etsy
But I finally got it and I think I like it

Once I get my living room painted,
this will be framed and hung

Here are a few other things that have been keeping us busy -

I just can't get enough of this little girl

We spent last weekend in Chicago

The boys had fun
but they would have been content
staying at the hotel in the pool

That's about all for now
I'll try to do better about blogging but for now,
I better get back to my projects
